The increase of urban farming, people start to engage in farming practice in the city for producing safe and healthy foods. Urban farmer's modern self-sufficient life allows us to remind the Shaker community. ’Fake Shaker’ chair is a reminder of the original Shaker chair for the urban farmers allowing them to build the chair by themselves in respect of the modest life of the Shakers. People could complete their own chair by choosing different colors and materials with there preferences in the assembly kit which randomly consists of various pieces of wood such as rose, walnut, oak and beech. Each piece of the kit is carefully handcrafted for easy assembly and durable strength applying traditional joint technique. The 'Fake Shaker' chair and stool was on show at KCDF gallery as part of the 'An Urban Farmer's Atelier' exhibition in 2012.
